What am I working on?

    Hoi Hoi! 

As an introduction to my blog and what this whole thing is all about, I wanted to share with y'all my current projects, a little bit about them, and where they are in production!

    THE KING'S ACTORS    

    Gripped by an acidic poison, Chestnut, accompanied by Rex, a local pickpocket, and Ava, a child actress, races against time to get to Lavivrus. The city may mean healing for Chestnut, but it means slavery for Rex. If they can make it to the city in time and get the cure, Chestnut would be saved, but unforseen treachery and long buried secrets might just be the difference between life and death.

    This story has been in the works for the past 6 years, from the time I was in 6th Grade. The characters and story, no joke, literally helped me survive middle school. I'll talk more about inspiration and the development more in later posts! THE KING'S ACTORS is a 85k Speculative Fantasy that's currently in the process of Querying and Editing!

    HE NEEDS A FATHER    

    Matthew Thunder has everything he could wish for in his father's Victorian Mansion. Day by day, the poor stay poor and the rich keep getting richer. When the constant luxury starts to get boring, Matthew starts to wonder if there's anything more to life than just parties and fashion. Having tricked his father into giving him half of his inheritance, Matthew sets off to make his mark on the world, however he soon finds the money dwindling and the fun running out. Matthew's misfortune paints a target on his back for supernatural forces. Two demons, Slither and Fang, latch onto Matthew. To win his soul for their master, they use Matthew's circumstances to beat him down and try to convince him that life would be better off unlived. One day, when returning from a day of work, Matthew hears the sobs of an abanonded 6 year old orphan who may end up giving Matthew what he's been missing for years. A reason to live.

    I wrote this as a prequel to THE KING'S ACTORS. It really helped me cement Rex's backstory and how he grew up. It's set in the same universe, only in a Victorian Era inspired setting instead of a more modern one. The original idea was loosely inspired by the prodigal son. I always wondered "what happens after the story ends" what does healing look for the prodigal son, how does adapting to his new surrounding look. HE NEEDS A FATHER is a 90k Supernatural Fantasy that's currently on the second draft.

    JUNE 9TH    

    Livorno, An 1960's Italy inspired country, is sent into a war by the clashing ideals of the leaders of the Polyarchy. Spade Davide Machini, the black sheep of the Machini Family, spends his days gambling and saving up enough money to run away from home and buy a bakery overlooking a vineyard. Despite his father's cuthroat methods for dealing with enemies and stubborn debtors, Spade looks for excuses to not hurt anyone and keep his gun holstered. His plans of escape are interrupted when war breaks out among the seven Dons. Spade finds himself caught in the middle of a coup to slaughter his entire family and is left wondering if there's anyone left who he can trust.

    After I wrote THE KING'S ACTORS, I was so heavily invested in the story that I couldn't just cut it out of my life, but I knew I had to move on, else I'd just edit the story forever and ever, unendingly until it was absolutely perfect. Spade started as a character created for a group writing project, but as I developed his backstory, I just absolutely fell in love with him. Him and Rex are my two favorite characters, by far! JUNE 9TH is a Magical Realism Fantasy about how "If you don't change the world, the world will change you" Word count? TBD! It's still early in the writing phase!
